Top Inventions of 2017 mentioned on the podcast

  1. Jibo - A robot you can relate to. Personal robots, such as Amazon Echo and Google Home, have come a long way in recent years. But fundamentally, they’re still stationary speakers whose defining expression is a light that turns on when you speak. Jibo is different. It’s not just that he—and I use the term he here, because that’s how Jibo refers to himself—looks like something straight out of a Pixar movie, with a big, round head and a face that uses animated icons to convey emotion.
  2. eSight 3 - For the millions of people who are legally blind, navigation is a routine challenge. Though support canes and guide dogs can help, they cannot mimic actual vision. eSight 3 can
  3. Halo Top - Ice Cream
  4. Fenty Beauty - Rihanna’s line,Fenty Beauty, which launched in September with 40 shades of foundation and a diverse array of makeup models.

That’s the idea behind the Futurecraft 4D, a new sneaker from Adidas whose midsole can be expertly tailored to the needs of its wearers—not only in size and shape, but also in flexibility, impact type, cushioning and more.
  6. Cars: Tesla Model 3 - Vehicles like the Model 3, which runs on batteries rather than gasoline, are likely to play a major role in combating climate change.
  7. Portable, wearable, Breast Pumps: Willow Pump - Breastfeeding is easier said than done, especially for moms on the go. Most electric breast pumps use air-horn-shaped collection bottles, which are tethered to loud, whirring machines.

Definitions:

Entrepreneur - The traditional definition is that it is a person who organizes and operates a business.

Innovation is the introduction of something new. It came from the word innovatus, which means 'to renew or change' and is made up of two words: in which means “into” and novus which means “new.”

It is an improvement to an existing product, process, thinking and service that’s implemented..

Invention is completely unique and first to the market.

Creativity leads to idea, brainstorming, dreaming and so on. It is important to unleash creativity in every business and organization to generate ideas or an invention or radical innovation. Curiosity and fun can unleash a lot of ideas!

Innovation starts with creativity and Curiosity.
